Sézane In New York City
When it comes to the French life, I gather my inspiration from the French themselves. After living in Rennes and Paris as part of my bachelors degree curriculum, it was hard to leave what I had learned in France and not maintain it in my own life. Much of my day to day life ritual consists of waking up and listening to my favorite French music station, Paris Chanson, and listening to podcasts on the train into the city everyday.
What I wear and my confidence in myself has been very inspired by the French culture; I tend to be quite minimalist in my upkeep (hello, un-cut hair for nearly 2 years!). Simplicity with feminine details has always been my instinctive style with who I am. Red lips and striped tee's, flowy dresses, floral prints, pointe pants and ballet flats for ease and a touch of formality. When I discovered the L'Appartement Sézane in New York City off the cobbled streets of Soho, I actually went into the shop two days in a row to make sure I had seen everything.
The perfection of the details begin with the gold racks of floral prints and continue to the floor of the Bonjour tiles to welcome you. The quality of their clothes can be found in the texture of their fabrics, and they give transparency for their beliefs of how and where their products are made. The photo booth is a lovely touch and makes it more than a boutique, it makes the entire shop of Sézane a Parisian experience.
